Crystal Castle and Minyon Falls Drive

For an alternative day out, away from the beaches and shopping of Byron Bay, there are some lovely things to do in the Byron Hinterland, The Crystal Castle and Minyon Falls are great places to explore.

Local Tip: Tailor your route to suit your interests. Head north out of Byron and explore the cute hippy town of Mullumbimby before venturing to the castle. Alternatively, take in pretty valley views and the sweeping rural landscape to the sea and Cape Byron by heading south from Byron onto The Hinterland Way, before turning right onto Coolamon Scenic Drive.

The Crystal Castle is a 25 minute drive from the center of Byron Bay, take the northern exit from town and at the large highway roundabout take the 3rd exit into Myocum Road, follow this lovely country road right to the end and with the Mullumbimby golf club on the right take a left turn onto Coolamon Scenic Drive winding up the hill turning right at the top into Goonengerry Rd and then right again after a 300m into Monet Drive you will see the hundreds of prayer flags of the crystal Castle on the left.

A visit to the peaceful Crystal Castle includes walks in the exquisite natural surroundings. You can join the daily workshops and experiences, including the Music of the Plants, Crystal Experience and famous Peace Experience. Be in awe of the Enchanted Cave, the largest amethyst cave in the world, and also the world’s tallest geode pair, The Crystal Guardians. Be at peace with the largest stone Blessing Buddha in Australia, and the only Kalachakra World Peace Stupa in the southern hemisphere.

Enjoy inspiring views of the Byron Bay hinterland with a fresh, delicious meal in the Lotus Cafe. Enhance your visit with an aura photo or tarot reading, and take home your own special crystals and jewellery from our collection. Don’t be surprised if you spend many hours wandering the many gardens, crystals and interactive attractions
